Agreement between Across Borders and the User

Please read the following before using or registering with this site. Entering “Across Borders” or its affiliated sites or using them or registering with them will mean agreeing to the terms below even if you do not register as a permanent user. The terms of use have been phrased in the masculine gender for ease of use but they apply equally to males and females.

1. “Across Borders” will maintain its sites in a manner that is suitable to those who choose to gain entry to them.
   
   
2. Use of site contents: “Across Borders” sites contain regular information, texts, photographs and programmes as well as other items. Most of the material published on Across Borders sites is copyright and is for personal use only. Material may not be sold. Some items have been prepared by “Across Borders” staff, users and other sources, and may be subject to more constraints depending on their source.
   
   
3. Information on Across Borders sites: The information published by “Across Borders”(including reports, advertisements and links) will enable you to find material and content that are available in general in the media and especially on the internet. You may not find what you need, or you may find material that conflicts with your own opinion, that is offensive, hurtful, infuriating or unsuitable. Across Borders is not responsible in any way for the content of material that was not prepared by Across Borders.
   
   
4. Trademarks and logos : “Across Borders” contents contain no names, words, titles, expressions, logos, pictures, graphics or designs that carry trade names, trademarks or service marks belonging to the gateway or to any party that granted the gateway the right to use such marks. The presence of trade names and marks on the gateway does not grant users the right to harm or infringe the rights of owners.
   
   
5. Guarantees: “Across Borders ” endeavours to provide current and accurate information as it originates from the source. “Across Borders” cannot guarantee the accuracy, comprehensively or currencyof the information on the site. Across Borders proclaims that it will not provide any guarantees other than those imposed by law, such as guaranteeing intellectual property rights, third party rights, and privacy of user address, freedom from latent defects, an uninterrupted service, suitability of presentation, suitability of contents to objectives, and freedom from computer viruses.
   
   
6. Responsibility: “Across Borders” bears no responsibility towards youregarding any damages that may be incurred, be they direct, indirect, incidental, special, moral or consequential. “Across Borders” is also not liable for any losses or benefits, opportunities or costs resulting from the use of “Across Borders” sites, even if Across Borders had warned about or informed of the possibility of incurring such damages or losses or costs.
   
   
7. “Across Borders” sites contain links to third parties. Links to other sites from the Across Borders site are not operated by “Across Borders” and we are not responsible for those links or any link containing other sites. The presence of another agency's name or logo on “Across Borders” sites, or the presence of a link to another agency's sitedoes not include the delivery of that agency's services or goods through “Across Borders”.
   
   
8. Chat Groups: “Across Borders” sites contain notice boards, chat groups, chat rooms, as well as other messages and communication facilities. The user agrees to use the chat facility only to send messages or material related to the discussion topic. For example, the user agrees, when using the chat facility, not to do the following:
   1. Slander, misuse, harass, spread rumours, threaten or infringe legitimate rights such as others' private and public rights.
   2. Upload, post or circulate any material or information that is obscene, foul or prohibited.
   3. Remove any material, notes selected by the author, titles or marks that are on the uploaded file.
   4. Interfere with the original material or the source of the programme or any material present on the uploaded file.
      
      
9. The user understands that all discussions are public and not personal. He also understands that dialogues, contributions and consultations as well as other participants' e-mail addresses and other means of communication are not monitored by “Across Borders” and are not subject to our approval. “Across Borders” reserves the right –for any reason and without the need for justification- to remove any discussion material added by a participant, as well as limit contributions made by e-mail and material posted on the message board. The user grants “Across Borders” and its members the right to review, reproduce, publish and distribute any information or content that was contributed or forwarded to Across Borders sites, for any purpose and without compensation to the user.
   
   
10. These conditions have been drafted in accordance with Palestinian law. The parties agree that Palestinian courts may intervene to resolve any conflict that may arise due to the above conditions. The user agrees to put before the courts any conflicts that may arise.
